2nd World Ceramic Biennale,
2003 Korea
This Biennale is hosted by the World
Ceramic Exposition Foundation (WOCEF) and is sponsored by
the International
Academy of Ceramics (IAC) and the National
Council on Education in the Ceramic Arts (NCECA). The 1st
World Ceramic Biennale Korea was hosted in 2001. The winner
was Lawson Oyekan.
The
purpose of the 2nd World Ceramic Biennale is to educate the public
about the trends of contemporary ceramic arts, to foster the development
of ceramic culture in the 21st century, and to present the vision
of the future of ceramic arts.
Apart from the International
Competition, it will consist of a Special
Exhibition, an International
Ceramic Symposium and an International
Ceramics Workshop.
Categories include Ceramics for Use and Ceramics as Expression.
There are many prizes to be won. the Grand Prize is US$23,000. The

of Entry has more details. Applications end Feb. 7, 2003.
By the way - good news for international participants: there is
no entry fee.
