Museo Richard-Ginori della Manifattura di Doccia
The most important porcelain factory in Italy, established in 1737 and still active to the present day. The Museum holds a remarkable collection (more than 8.000 pieces) of Ginori and Richard-Ginori porcelain and tin-glazed earthenware, dating form 1737 to 1990. Among the highlights of the collection are impressive life-size sculptures of the early period, like the Medici Venus or Love and Psyche ( about 1750) and the largest existing collection of Art Deco Ceramics by the world famous designer Gio Ponti. The Museum is just six miles outside of Florence, in a little town called Sesto Fiorentino.
