The stories I can tell you!!
I was born behind a woodpile about a block from where I live now.
My mother was a large tricolor. I heard stories about her when I
was little. Evidently someone had her as a kitten, but she then
either
ran away from home or was abandoned. She had lived here in the
neighborhood for many years, living by using her hunting skills
to
eliminate rats and mice from the area. I understand that my father
was
a big tomcat of a Himalayan/Siamese mix. This is what I am told.
My
mother had many suitors, and my siblings looked nothing like me.
My
current female owner managed to tame her over the course of a year.
She
fed her regularly and kept tabs on her and knew when we were born.
That
is how I came to live in this house.
My owners, Meanneowr and Rajohnowr are good to me. Everything is
wonderful here except for the monthly baths, ear cleanings and nail
clipping which I don't appreciate much.
I understand what you are saying about hairballs. (Refers to a
comment I made about puking on my
human companions fresh bed sheets a couple of times...The Editor.)
I have a very
delicate tummy and I have accidents every now and then.
I also like to sit on laps (as often as possible) and at night
I sleep
on two pillows piled high between my two purrson companions. I like
to
watch them sleep. Around 5 every morning I meowr loudly indicating
that
they should get up, and especially get up to feed me.
I am an old lady, Felix. I will be 19 years old in April. It never
ceases to amaze me that I have made it this long. About my figure:
I have good genes, I have kept my 13.5 lb weight since I was 4 years
old. Not bad eh?
About 7 years ago, I was banned from roaming outdoors any more.
Sometimes I think back to those days. My half-sibling, Ben and I
used
to roam all night. Then one foggy fall evening he was hit by a car.
From that day on I have been kept indoors. I did not like it to
start
with, but I think my good health and longevity can be directly
attributed to this indoor life. Also, I do not miss the fleas!
