Artist Statement: Pottery is a vision of human creativity,
with works of art which have maintained their form and glaze color
for thousands of years. I use clay bodies to express visions of
mind and spirit. In my work, I design vessels through creative
expression of the hand, developing unusual and appealing art with
carefully designed glazes and often adding driftwood and leather
to give the piece a natural appeal. Using my own glaze designs,
each piece depicts the powerful effects of glaze materials interacting
with fire. Many of my pieces are of Japanese, African and Native
American Indian creation. My desire is to have those who view
my pottery to feel the warmth and spirit in each piece.
