Mediterranea

Majolica clay, 1100º white glazes, manganese.

MEDITERRANEA were a set of 25 pieces (one listed) and it as to do with the idea of fragment. I was always very interested in fragmentary natures, in collecting objects, cataloguing it , putting side by side, picking up, displaying it (I work in a museum). I believe it has to do with the fact that everything is somehow fragmentary and that human nature has a tendency to built up a sense, a reason, a literary/conceptual idea when collecting objects. They were all connected with an idea of pleasure and people will only get that idea again when they collect it again and put it all side by side. (they were sold individually). Will they be lined side by side again?
