"Mineral Flow Vase"
              Height 8 inches
High-Fire White Stoneware, Rutile Eggshell, Light Green
              (copper-based), Mottled Red, Moderately Reduced
Wheel-thrown and incised by an aluminum straight rib. The channels
              incised
around the perimeter of this vase provided a retention area for
              the
mottled red so that when the maturing temperature of the red was
              reached
(being below that of the green) the glaze ran over the light green,
producing the striking brown-red flow patterns. The matteness of
              the
glazes was further enhanced through the application of the light
              green
using a sponge rather than a brush or dipping.
